A church leader who was trying to show his congregation that Jesus had given him power over wild animals was badly mauled by a lion who clearly did not get the divine memo.
Alec Ndiwane, a Zion Christian Church prophet, was attacked viciously while on a safari trip trying to prove that God can save him in front of his group of church members. Apparently, the power of the Lord came over him and he started speaking in tongues, neither of which turned out to be lion.
The lion was minding its own business eating an impala in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. Ndiwane started approaching and it saw him as desert.
It was about at this point that Ndiwane realised that his god was a bit of a trickster and he decided to run back to the car. The Lion caught him and bit him on the arm and the buttocks before being scared off by game rangers firing shots.
GhanaWeb said that Ndiwane Ndiwane was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery to stitch up his wounds and discharged later on.
He later told the media: “ I do not know what came over me. I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth.”
